Love's Demise

I cried out to the heavens!
That we may be joined together!
That our stars be crossed for all time!
That for good, or for worse, I may share in thine life.
But in vain my tears were wet, on heaven's great cheek!
For thine angel hath plucked thee from my arms
Never, shall I wipe a tear from thine eyes
Never, to share in thine sweet and delicate fellowship!

Thou hath eluded me all my waking moments
Hope had I, for a life of bliss with thee
But when I finally have fulfillment in my grasp
It kicks me in the face!

Now must I lay to rest my hope
In the Graveyard of hopes
For though thine beauty holdeth sway in mine heart
Yet knowest I, that thou art withheld from me.

You call me Sam, and behold me a dear friend
But I thirst for more ...
To mean more ...
To be more ....

My heart broke even as I lifted my face to the heavens
Though my resolve was strong, and my mind steady...
My heart remained a well of sorrows
And mine eyes, a fountain of tears

And now it was done
Heaven by it's soft gale and teary skies
I with my shattered heart and teary eyes
Heaven and I, wept together ......

Most Sacred Fire

Most sacred fire the burneth mightly in living breast!
Ye kindled first above
Emongst the eternal spheres and lamping skies
Thence poured into men, which men call love
Not that same, which does base affections rise, in brutish minds
And filthy lust inflame
But that sweet fit, which does true beauty love
And chooseth virtue for his dearest dame
From whence springs all honour, and never dying fame!
